Buena Tinta” or “Good Ink” is a collaborative photography show exploring the underground worlds of street art and tattooing in Havana, Cuba.

In Cuba, tattoo and street art are forms of protest. Ink and spray paint, are not only tools of empowerment but emblematic of a counter-cultural movement percolating the streets of Havana. Buena Tinta is a metaphor of an underground phenomena that defies local convention and challenges the Cuban establishment with its art, music, skateboard culture, tattoos and outspoken words. Through life-style and street photography this show documents this movement and seeks to understand its impacts on culture, identity and politics.

Guest curated by Bridges Not Walls, the show features photography by Jens Rosenkrantz Jr (Cincinnati, OH), Kelsey and Zivi of Describe the Fauna (Los Angeles, CA) and the artist collective Zennit Tattoo (Havana, Cuba).
